如果有秘密

Raised in the city, Xu Jingxi, an HR manager at a Fortune 500 company, is suddenly laid off. She decides to travel to Dali, Yunnan, to escape and find peace. Upon arrival, she loses her phone and ID, and turns to Wen Shan, a guesthouse employee, for help — an encounter that quietly plants the seed of their emotional connection.

Jingxi begins her part-time stay at the guesthouse, taking the morning shift. Wen Shan is strict and straightforward, often clashing with Jingxi in small quarrels. After a long and tiring day, Jingxi gets drunk and accidentally enters Wen Shan’s room, asking if she has ever been in love.

A mysterious woman appears, introducing herself as Yun, the owner of the guesthouse. She joins Jingxi and Wen Shan for lunch, where Jingxi admits she recently lost her job and has never been in a relationship. Yun gently advises her that women should be financially independent and encourages her to find strength and start anew.

“Who is Qiu Bei?” Jingxi curiously asks Wen Shan, but receives a cold response, and their playful bickering continues. Later, Jingxi suddenly suffers from stomach pain. Wen Shan stays behind to take care of her and even gives her an old phone to use as a temporary alarm clock — a small gesture that deeply moves Jingxi.

Yun praises Jingxi’s cooking, delighted to finally taste something different from Wen Shan’s usual dishes. She then asks about Jingxi’s future plans. Jingxi smiles and says she’s happy to stay as long as no one kicks her out. Yet, Wen Shan remains distant — warm one moment, cold the next, keeping Jingxi guessing.

At the bar, Qiu Bei offers Jingxi a cocktail, but Wen Shan immediately stops her, leading to another playful argument. As Jingxi and Qiu Bei chat and grow more relaxed, the mood lightens — until Jingxi can’t handle her alcohol. Soon after, an unexpected moment of closeness between Jingxi and Wen Shan sparks a new wave of subtle misunderstanding.

Jingxi is shocked when she wakes up to find herself sharing the same bed with Wen Shan, demanding to know when she came in. Wen Shan coldly threatens her that there will be grave consequences if she drinks again. Later, when a pair of travelers need a room, Jingxi gives up her staff room and moves into Wen Shan’s instead — leading the two to spend another night together.

Late at night, Jingxi wakes up and sees Wen Shan in the courtyard, quietly admiring the moon. Wen Shan says she often suffers from insomnia and that watching the moon helps calm her mind. Jingxi jokes that Wen Shan is as cold as the moon, while she herself is like Venus beside it — a little “tag-along” following her. The two tease each other under the soft moonlight.

After Jingxi’s sudden collapse, Wen Shan’s care brings them closer than ever — until an unexpected call quietly changes everything.
