Zkoumáme neuvěřitelné, avšak méně známé civilizace Střední Ameriky. Olmékové v Mexiku (1200-400 př. n. l.), Taínové z oblasti Velkých Antil (400 př. n. l.-1600), kultura Teotuhuacán v Mexiku (200 př. n. l.-700) a Chiriquí na Kostarice (1000 př. n. l. - 1400) byly velmi významné kultury pulzující životem. Některé z nich rozkvetly ještě v době před svými slavnými sousedy, které často inspirovaly. Zaslouží si uznání stejně jako mocní Aztékové či Mayové. Prostředí Střední Ameriky je nesmírně rozmanité, od rajských ostrovů po pouště a deštné pralesy. Lidé se mu stejně jedinečně přizpůsobili svými chrámy na úpatí sopek a rozsáhlými pevnostmi, z nichž nyní zbývají jen trosky. Jago vyzdvihne největší úspěchy těchto zapomenutých kultur a vysvětlí, proč každá nakonec zanikla.
