Nanase Sakura je 23letá začínající zdravotní sestra. Před několika lety se seznámila s doktorem Kairi Tendo a zamilovala se do něj. Aby se s ním mohla znovu setkat, pilně studovala a stala se zdravotní sestrou. Po pěti letech se konečně znovu setkává s Kairim Tendem, ale ten má úplně jinou osobnost, než si představovala. Kairi Tendo, kterému je 31 let, je v práci běžně označován jako "ďábel". Je to vyrovnaný perfekcionista a často má kousavé poznámky na adresu lékařů a sester. Nanase Sakura tvrdě pracuje na tom, aby se jí od Kairiho Tenda dostalo uznání, a také mu upřímně vyjadřuje své pocity. Díky své vytrvalosti se Nanase Sakura stane v nemocnici známou a získá přezdívku "Bojovnice". Mezitím začne Nanase Sakuru přitahovat Kairi Tendo.
