When the Weather Is Fine

Hae Won je chorá a unavená ze života v tomto chladném světě. Přijde domů do Bukhyeon-ri, venkovské vesnice, kde vyrůstala, aby uzdravila svou duši. Eun Seop zjistí, že se Hae Won, spolužačka ze střední školy vrátila a cítí zvláštní nával emocí. Setkávají se znovu na stejném místě, kde sdílejí vzpomínky z doby před deseti lety.

Hae Won ve městě narazí na Jang Wooa, dalšího spolužáka ze střední školy. Ten ji pozve do malého knižního klubu, který se schází v knihkupectví Eun Seopa. Je to malé setkání obyvatel města, které Hae Won zahřeje u srdce. Mezitím se Hae Won dozví, že Jang Woo dal její telefonní číslo někomu, koho si opravdu nechtěla pamatovat.

Když Hae Won uvidí Bo Yeong, vzpomene si na bolest, kterou prožila na střední škole. Mezitím Bukhyeon-ri zachvátí zima a vodovodní potrubí v domě Hodu začne jedno po druhém praskat. Hae Won nezbývá nic jiného než prozatím zůstat s Eun Seopa. Když se Eun Seop v noci vydá do hor, Hae Won se ho snaží najít.

Eun Seop řekne, že zná hory jako své boty, a Hae Won se o něj začne zajímat. Mezitím se v horách ztratí Jang Wooův kolega. Všichni ve vesnici žádají Eun Seopa o pomoc. Když vidí Eun Seopa s rodinou poté, co sestoupil z hory jako hrdina, si Hae Won uvědomí, jak moc jsou rozdílní.

Hae Wonina matka Myeong Ju se zničehonic objeví v Bukhyeon-ri. Hae Won se v přítomnosti své matky cítí nepříjemně a trapně a nakonec si řeknou několik zraňujících slov. Mezitím se Eun Seop vydá za Bo Yeong poté, co mu zavolá. Když je Hae Won uvidí spolu, špatně si to vyloží.

Ve městě se objeví Yeong Woo, chlapec, který se na střední škole zamiloval do Hae Won. Eun Seop je Yeong Wooovou přítomností rozrušen, protože je zřejmé, že přišel za Hae Won. Mezitím se Hae Won přestěhuje zpět do domu Hodu a všichni tři se znovu setkají na střetnutí absolventů. Jaké city každý z nich skrývá?

Hae Won tells Eun Seop that she likes him, but his reaction is not what she expected. After her very direct confession, Hae Won goes to ask Eun Seop about something at the bookstore. When she gets there, she meets Bo Yeong and becomes upset. Meanwhile, Eun Seop is sick but then disappears into the mountains in a trance-like state.

When Eun Seop disappears into the mountains again, Hae Won gets worried and sets out to find him. She finds him at the cottage he always goes to, but his attitude towards her is very blunt and icy. Hae Won thinks that is Eun Seop’s way of rejecting her feelings for him and things become awkward between them. Later on, they end up going on another hike.

Hae Won and Eun Seop share their first kiss on the top of the mountain. Although Hae Won now knows that Eun Seop likes her back, she is anxious that he might disappear. Meanwhile, after having dinner with Jang Woo and Mr. Park, they rush over to break up a fight in the marketplace. There, Hae Won hears a secret about Eun Seop she never knew before.

A stranger shows up in town and disrupts Hae Won and Eun Seop’s happiness. He seems to be the same man from the picture Eun Seop carries in his wallet. The man asks Eun Seop to come with him, bringing up the fact that they are blood relations. Even with the bookstore’s flea market event happening soon, Eun Seop feels the need to follow the man.

Eun Seop receives a phone call at the bookstore that leads to an impromptu trip to see the landlord with Hae Won. It becomes a chance for the two to fall deeper in love. Meanwhile, Yun Taek asks Myeong Yeo to send him the first line of her new novel. Myeong Yeo sends over a single line via fax that contains a shocking secret from the past.

Myeong Yeo fax puts Yun Taek in a frenzy and he calls Myeong Yeo all day long, even though she won’t pick up. Meanwhile, Hae Won remains oblivious of the truth from the past that is replaying in Myeong Yeo’s mind and continues to spend sweet moments with Eun Seop. However, Bo Yeong shows up at the bookstore unannounced one night.

Bo Yeong calls Eun Seop to come and save her in the mountains. Hae Won goes to get her instead and the two finally get to talk honestly. Meanwhile, Yun Taek runs to Myeong Yeo’s side after receiving a text message. He sees what Myeong Yeo has been hiding behind her sunglasses. Finally, Hae Won discovers Eun Seop’s secret diary.

Myeong Yeo is admitted to the hospital but refuses to get treatment. In an attempt to convince Myeong Yeo, Hae Won calls her mom. Meanwhile, Myeong Yeo sends the manuscript for her new book to Eun Seop and Yun Taek. Although it is supposed to be a mixture of fiction and non-fiction, the story seems a bit too truthful and personal.

Myeong Yeo declares that she wants to turn herself in to the police and that she has been suffering from guilt all this time. Hae Won is hurt and confused that she didn’t know about any of what happened. With winter passing by and spring just around the corner, Eun Seop must prepare to let Hae Won go.

Hae Won and Eun Seop go on with their own lives as if they have forgotten about the other. Meanwhile, Myeong Ju writes a letter to Hae Won, saying all the things she wasn’t able to say before. She also lets Hae Won know that Myeong Yeo will be leaving soon. Hae Won contemplates whether or not to go back to Bukhyeon-ri.
