Napínavá britská minisérie podle skutečné události sleduje londýnského vyšetřovatele Collina Suttona. Příběh začíná v srpnu roku 2004, kdy je nalezeno tělo mrtvé ženy. Případ dostane na starosti právě Sutton, který díky pečlivé detektivní práci objeví souvislost s nevyřešenými vraždami Marshy McDonnell z roku 2003 a Milly Dowler z roku 2002. Jeho neúnavná práce a nezvyklý přístup nakonec vedou k průlomu v tomto zdánlivě neřešitelném případu.
