Půvabná Hayat je obyčejná mladá holka z venkova, kterou neskutečně baví život ve víru exotického velkoměsta Istanbul. Bydlí se svými nejlepšími kamarádkami Ipek a Asli. Na první pohled to vypadá, že Hayat nic nechybí. Ale skutečnost je jiná, Hayat má totiž málo času. Jestli se jí nepodaří rychle si najít práci, bude se muset vrátit zpátky domů a stát se nedobrovolnou nevěstou ženicha, jehož si rozhodně sama nevybrala. Jejich nechtěné manželství domluvil předem její přísný otec. Shodou náhod se na Hayat usměje štěstí a dostává místo v nadnárodní textilní společnosti. Je to dobrá práce. Jenže to má háček. Už ji měl zamluvenou někdo jiný. Zatímco se Hayat sbližuje a pak zase hádá a tak pořád dokola s pohledným mladým šéfem společnosti Muratem, musí opatrně našlapovat v prostředí plném nebezpečných intrik. Jednou z největších nečekaných nástrah je přitom Muratova bývalá žárlivá přítelkyně Didem, pro kterou je Hayat trnem v oku.

Hayat, a college dropout, lives with her aunt, Asli, and Ipek, while Emine, her mother, decides to take her back to her country if she doesn't find a job soon. His father, Nejat, is part of the family business, while Doruk's mother, Derya, tries to break the brothers' bonds. Murat's grandmother, who is the company's designer, helps keep the family together, while Tuval, the company's eccentric owner, uses Turkish and English words in her dialogue. Model Didem, who is a self-centered individual, is the company's ideal candidate for Murat's wife and girlfriend. However, they have had a few on and off relationships. Murat is uninterested in her. Also, Suna, who is Nejat's daughter, is looking for a job that she was promised but she doesn't want to take it.
