Annika Bengtzonová je novinářka a pracující matka dvou dětí, která se snaží udržet své manželství při životě. Neohroženě pátrá po pravdě, a proto si nenechá od nikoho říct ne: ani od prestižních akademiků, ani od drogových dealerů, ani od kolegů z vlastní profese. Její vášeň pro získání příběhu ji sice přivádí do nebezpečných situací, ale nakonec jí umožňuje nahlédnout do nitra každého zločinu. Annika se nebojí utkat se s otrlými zločinci, ale zdá se, že její nejtěžší výzvou je snaha sladit práci s občas bouřlivým soukromým životem.
