V předvečer Svátku prasečí hlídky (zkráceně Prasečnic), které jsou jen náhodou malinko podobné zemNEplošským (tedy zeměkoulním) Vánocům, nastane absolutní nedostatek tlustého muže v červenobílém oblečení, který doručuje dárky. Zmizel. Dětská vychovatelka Zuzana Stohelitská ho musí najít, jinak nejenže bude ráno bez dárků, ale ani nevyjde slunce. Jejími pomocníky jsou havran s oční vadou, krysí Smrť a bůh kocoviny. Naštěstí ale zeměplošský Smrť, Zuzanin dědeček, zvládá chvíli dělat dvě práce zaráz. Šíří se podivné zvěsti, dějí se podivné věci, a nakonec jsou do toho zapleteni i mágové za zdmi Neviditelné univerzity a jejich myslící stroj Hex. Jak to všechno dopadne, proč a jak je v tom angažován dosud úspěšný člen Cechu vrahů Jonatán Časnačaj a kdo za tím vším stojí, se nechte překvapit. Pokud se vám ovšem kýve nějaký zub, buďte velmi opatrní…
